Postby smokerevel » Thu Jul 29, 2010 2:36 pm

hi i've got a vw sharan 1997 diesel, have spent loads of money on it, trying to sort out the problem, your my last hope before i push it off a cliff!!! lol
it has had a new air mass meter fitted and a full service, seemed ok when i drove it home from garage, but problem still there,
When starting up, the car over revs and a puff of black smoke comes out the exhaust intermitently, driving around locally is fine but no power on motorway and the revs struggle's over 3000. please help

it came up on the computor as the air mass meter. which we brought new from vw.
i don't know the fault code they did'nt say, but it has been back on the computor which is saying there are no problems.

If the AMM was from the dealer that is fine but I am surprised it is not generating any fault codes.

04D5 hex is VAG

01237 Fuel cut-off valve -N109

Which is defined as

Mechanical fault - N109 defective, leaking or sticking

or

Open/short circuit to earth
