2000 Golf GT TDI Whistling

Hi,

Sorry if ive posted in the wrong place so much info on here didnt know where to start !!
I have a 2000 golf gt tdi that whsitles when i accelerate.. it sounds like a siren behind me or ive a cat under the bonnet, also there seems to be a lack of power? has anyone else had this problem?
I need a rough idea before i go to the garage and they rip me off for being clueless!! lol

Garages don’t all automatically rip people off who know nothing about cars; find a local VAG specialist, not just a general garage. From the sound of it, your turbo has failed and will need to come off for overhaul.
